Golden Days, Jewellery To Shine In

Can you believe we are fast approaching Autumn with golden tones and cooler days? I must admit I love the change in the seasons and Autumn in Melbourne is one of my favourite times of year. Autumnal colours are everywhere and the rich tones are complimented by gold jewellery. The price of gold is still rising which is why gold lined or rolled gold is a great option if you wish to add some gold pieces to your jewellery collection.

Gold lined means that a thick layer of either 9ct or 10ct gold is bonded to a base metal core, like copper or silver, to create a durable and long lasting alternative to gold plated jewellery and of course more cost effective that solid gold. Often also known as rolled gold it is usually found on antique and vintage jewellery. Gold fill is the modern and more contemporary term.

There are some gorgeous gold lined antique and vintage heart lockets, pendants and brooches new to the store. All unique and one off treasures. I love to wear mixed metals and will happily wear my gold and silver pieces together.
