Lovely vintage silver needle case in the form of a boy holding a bunch of flowers on a sterling silver chain. The needle case has beautiful detailing and would make a delightful addition to any antique or silver sewing collection as well as a whimsical and unique pendant.

The needle case is stamped 925 and measures 6cm. The sterling silver chain measures 58cm.

Engraved needle cases were often one of the components of a ladies chatelaine. A chatelaine was generally carried by the lady of the house and was a decorative belt hook or clasp worn at the waist with a series of chains suspended from it. Each chain was mounted with useful household items such as scissors, fruit knives, thimbles, watches, keys, small purses, stamp cases and pencils. 

This unique piece of jewellery may have signs of wear due to its history. It is beautifully imperfect and should be treated with love and care. This needle case is in excellent vintage condition.
