Lovely, unusual sterling silver watch fob with a domed centre. It has clear hallmarks for Birmingham 1927 with the makers mark WA for William Adams of Barr St, Birmingham.
The watch fob was presented by the London Territorial Assoc to the 2nd place winner in the School of Arms.
A fob is an adornment or a seal that hung from the ribbon or chain of a Gentleman's pocket watch. Its purpose was to decorate or add weight to the watch chain. Watch fob pendants were often given as prizes or to commemorate a special occasion or event.
This watch fob pendant would look great on either a silver chain or pearl necklace.
