A beautiful handwired sterling silver chain and pearl bracelet featuring an original 1926 British threepence. A unique and special bracelet.
The British threepence was known as a threepence or threepenny bit and was first used in England during the reign of Edward VI (1547-53). All threepences minted from 1816 to 1919 were made of sterling silver and those produced between 1920 and 1946 were half silver, half nickel. These coins were often made into bracelets by soldiers serving in WWII to send home to their sweethearts.
The bracelet measures 18cm with a 2.5cm extension.
