Antique Watch Fob Semi Precious Stone Sterling Silver Necklace

This stunning necklace features a sterling silver shield watch fob on hand wired semi precious stones, sterling silver chain and clasp. The watch fob is hallmarked Birmingham late 1900's.  It is blank on the back and the front cartouche is also blank, an unusual feature of these type of medallions as they often have initial engravings or inscriptions.

The watch fob can be easily removed so you can add another pendant or charm or wear the fob on a different chain or necklace. A versatile and unique necklace.

A fob is an adornment or a seal that hung from the ribbon or chain of a Gentleman's pocket watch. Its purpose was to decorate or add weight to the watch chain. Watch fob pendants were often given as prizes or to commemorate a special occasion or event.

 The total length of the necklace including the watch fob is 56cm. The watch fob measures 4cm x 2.5cm.
