Lovely antique late Victorian gold plated spinning fob with a faceted paste citrine stone. The fob is on a modern heavily gold plated sterling silver Italian curb chain to create a unique and beautiful necklace.
A fob is an adornment or a seal that hung from the ribbon or chain of a Gentleman's pocket watch. Its purpose was to decorate or add weight to the watch chain.
The fob measures 2.5cm x 3cm (including the ring) and the chain can be worn at 50cm or 55cm.
This unique piece of jewellery may have signs of wear due to it's history. It is beautifully imperfect and should be treated with love and care. This fob is in good antique condition with a little wear and appropriate aged patina to the frame.
