Lovely antique c 1886 Victorian Albo silver spinning fob with carnelian and bloodstone inserts and rope features. The fob is stamped Albo Silver Rgd N.C.R.Co

This fob was made by the renowned makers N.C. Reading & Co. who developed Albo Silver. Known for its exceptional thickness and durability, this premium Victorian silver plating was bonded to a dense white-metal core, allowing it to retain its brilliant silver luster. This fob has the rare, earliest version of the trademark stamp before later tracking numbers were implemented, making it a true collector's find.

A fob is an adornment or a seal that hung from the ribbon or chain of a Gentleman's pocket watch. Its purpose was to decorate or add weight to the watch chain.

This fob features a rotating "swivel" mechanism, which allowed the wearer to choose between two different stone faces and it measures 3cm including the ring and bail. 

This unique piece of jewellery may have signs of wear due to it's history. It is beautifully imperfect and should be treated with love and care. This fob is in great antique condition.
