Antique 1899 threepence silver coin with gemstone and star inset. A beautiful and rare charm full of history.

The British threepence was know as a threepence or threepenny bit and was first used in England during the reign of Edward VI (1547-53). All threepences minted from 1816 to 1919 were made of sterling silver and those produced between 1920 and 1946 were half silver, half nickel. Gems were often added to these coins and given as love tokens. 

It has a sterling silver ring so that it is ready to add to your charm bracelet or your favourite chain.
