Beautiful rolled gold engine turned sovereign holder pendant with a fully operational, spring-loaded internal platform originally meant to hold gold sovereign coins.

The exterior and interior showcase an lovely, deeply textured engine-turned geometric pattern, complete with an unengraved central cartouche on the front ready for a custom monogram. Made from a heavy antique rolled gold over a brass base metal, it features a beautifully authentic antique gold color with a patina appropriate for its age.

This sovereign holder would look great on a chain or a pearl multiway necklace from my Chains and Pearls collection to create a unique and special necklace.

A sovereign case was used for carrying either full or half gold sovereign coins and often worn on a gentleman's Albert/watch chain and kept in a waistcoat pocket. The coins would be stacked tightly together by a spring action mechanism; a case usually holds about 4 or 5 sovereigns. 

The sovereign case measures 5cm x 3.5cm inclusive of the ring. 

This unique piece of jewellery may have signs of wear due to its history. It is beautifully imperfect and should be treated with love and care. This sovereign case is in great antique condition
