Lovely round sterling silver Art Deco antique pendant/compact from a lady's chatelaine. It still has the original mirror intact in the lid of the compact and the original ring stamped with the Lion passant. This would look great hanging from a silver chain to create a unique and beautiful necklace.

The compact/pendant is hallmarked Chester 1916 and has the makers mark ALLd for the famous silversmiths Adie & Lovekin of Frederick St,  Birmingham.

 A chatelaine was generally carried by the lady of the house and was a decorative belt hook or clasp worn at the waist with a series of chains suspended from it. Each chain was mounted with useful household items such as scissors, fruit knives, thimbles, watches, keys, small purses, stamp cases and pencils. 

It measures 5.5cm including the ring.

This gorgeous pendant is in great antique condition with a couple of age related small dents.
