Silver 1891 British threepence and pink freshwater pearl charm. A gorgeous charm to add to your favourite chain.
The British threepence was known as a threepence or threepenny bit and was first used in England during the reign of Edward VI (1547-53). All threepences minted from 1816 to 1919 were made of sterling silver and those produced between 1920 and 1946 were half silver, half nickel. These coins were often made into bracelets by soldiers serving in WWII to send home to their sweethearts.
The threepence and pearl drop measures 2.5cm.
This unique piece of jewellery may have signs of wear due to its history. It is beautifully imperfect and should be treated with love and care. This coin is in great antique condition.
