Vintage Fattorini Silver Watch Fob Pendant
$175.00
This beautiful and unusual watch fob is hallmarked silver and has a rose gold cartouche. It has the makers mark for Thomas Fattorini Ltd. It also has an unusual engraving of an animal, possibly cow within the rose gold cartouche and engraving 'Runners Up Of The Cuddesdon Charity Cup, 1930-1931'. Cuddesdon is a small village in Oxford famous for Ripon College, the Church of England theological college.
The Fattorini company was founded in 1827 by Antonio Fattorini an Italian immigrant who settled in Yorkshire, UK. They specialised in the manufacture of badges and medals for sports clubs and made the famous UK trophies for footballs FA Cup and Rugby League Challenge Cup. The company is still manufacturing today led by the 6th generation of the Fattorino family.
A fob is an adornment or a seal that hung from the ribbon or chain of a Gentleman's pocket watch. Its purpose was to decorate or add weight to the watch chain. Watch fob pendants were often given as prizes or to commemorate a special occasion or event.
This watch fob pendant would look great on either a silver or gold chain or a pearl multiway necklace from my Chains and Pearls collection to create a unique and special necklace.
The watch fob measures 4cm x 2cm inclusive of the ring.
This unique piece of jewellery may have signs of wear due to its history. It is beautifully imperfect and should be treated with love and care. This watch fob is in great vintage condition.
