Lovely octagonal sterling silver Art Deco antique pendant/compact probably from a lady's chatelaine. This would look great hanging from a silver chain to create a unique and beautiful necklace.

The compact/pendant is hallmarked Chester 1922 and has the makers mark T & S for E J Trevitt & Sons of Augusta St, Birmingham.

 A chatelaine was generally carried by the lady of the house and was a decorative belt hook or clasp worn at the waist with a series of chains suspended from it. Each chain was mounted with useful household items such as scissors, fruit knives, thimbles, watches, keys, small purses, stamp cases and pencils. 

It measures 4.cm x 4cm and is 1cm in depth.

This gorgeous pendant is in great antique condition with very little wear and no dents.
