A rare and lovely Victorian brooch fully hallmarked for Birmingham 1883 and with the makers mark A.C.C It also has its original safety chain and a c clasp fitting.

The brooch features a pressed and stamped border of repeating fan motifs with beaded ball accents between each segment. This style was frequently seen in the decorative arts Aesthetic Movement of the 1870's. Unlike the more common floral motifs seen in this type of brooch, the central segment has an unusual and charming engraving of an otter or beaver in a water landscape. Animal subject engravings are quite rare in Victorian silver brooches of the era making this a collectable and sought after Aesthetic Era brooch.

No longer confined to your Grandmother's jewellery box brooches are now having a massive comeback and are hailed as THE jewellery trend of 2026. They are a great way to add some individual style to your outfit. Add them to your jacket, skirt, bag or scarf to instantly update your style.
