Vintage 1950's West German Basket of Fruit Earrings

Brand Vonk Jewellery

Fun and beautifully made 1950's clip on earrings. They are mini straw woven baskets filled with miniature fruits including bananas, oranges, apples and lemons and are stamped 'Made in West Germany' on the back.

After the 2nd World War, West Germany's economy grew and along with it the manufacture of goods such as costume jewellery. Many clip on earrings of this type and era are from either Japan or West Germany and are extremely collectible. 

The German jewellery makers designed and produced beautiful beaded tiered bib style necklaces, which often came with matching clip on cluster earrings, brooches and bracelets.

This pair are in excellent vintage condition and can be worn and enjoyed today. They can also be clipped onto jackets of shirts to create an unusual and beautiful brooch.

The earrings are 3.5cm in diameter.
