Vintage Coin And Grey Keshi Pearl Earrings
$175.00
These gorgeous earrings feature 1934 and 1936 British threepences with large luxe grey keshi pearls with gold highlights on sterling silver studs. The pearls are a beautiful grey/lilac colour with pink and purple underlying tones and with a lovely lustre.
The British threepence was known as a threepence or threepenny bit and was first used in England during the reign of Edward VI (1547-53). All threepences minted from 1816 to 1919 were made of sterling silver and those produced between 1920 and 1946 were half silver, half nickel. These coins were often made into bracelets by soldiers serving in WWII to send home to their sweethearts.
The earrings are 5cm in length.
This unique piece of jewellery may have signs of wear due to its history. It is beautifully imperfect and should be treated with love and care. These coins are in great vintage condition.
