This unusual antique silver brooch features a gold toned lucky horseshoe and has a locket compartment at the back for a photo or special momento. These type of brooches were often called mourning brooches as the wearer could place a photo or lock of hair of a lost loved one in the compartment to keep them close.
The brooch has a C clasp and has been acid tested for silver. It has a few marks but is in good antique condition.
