1933 Sterling Silver Rose Gold Watch Fob Necklace

This beautiful necklace features a 1933 sterling silver and rose gold watch fob on a handwired sterling silver, pearl and rose gold fill chain. The fob is blank on the front and has a faint engraving on the back saying R.M.W.L 1933-1934 !st Division. It is hallmarked Birmingham 1933.

A fob is an adornment or a seal that hung from the ribbon or chain of a Gentleman's pocket watch. Its purpose was to decorate or add weight to the watch chain. Watch fob pendants were often given as prizes or to commemorate a special occasion or event.

The fob measures 3.8cm x 2.1cm (including the large original ring), the total length of the chain is 51cm with 2.5cm extension.

This unique piece of jewellery may have signs of wear due to its history. It is beautifully imperfect and should be treated with love and care. This fob is in excellent vintage condition.
