A fob is an adornment or a seal that hung from the ribbon or chain of a Gentleman's pocket watch. Its purpose was to decorate or add weight to the watch chain and to show your status and wealth. They could be in the form of engraved seals, charms or other embellishments. Watch fob pendants or medallions were also often given as prizes or to commemorate a special occasion or event.

Nearly always crafted from sterling silver with gold or rose gold cartouches, the medallions also often had beautiful engraving or fancy detailing.
