They usually featured a mix of chain styles, fancy sliders and beads and were often seen as a jewellery item.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe total length of the chain with the tassel extension is 31cm so it can be added to another chain to create a unique necklace. I have a very similar albertina which i wear in this way with a variety of different chains.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eIt has no hallmarks and testing suggests that it is continental 800 silver which was commonly used for decorative chains of this type.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThis unique piece of jewellery may have signs of wear due to its history. It is beautifully imperfect and should be treated with love and care. This watch chain necklace is in great antique condition.
