Antique 1901 Sterling Silver Rose Gold Aesthetic Cross Necklace
$395.00
Stunning sterling silver and rose gold aesthetic style cross necklace. The cross has raised flowers and leaves in rose gold and beautiful engraving. It is clearly hallmarked for Birmingham 1901 with the makers mark J.W.T for James Walter Tiptaft of Northampton Street, Birmingham.
I have added it to a handwired sterling silver chain featuring sterling silver, rose gold fill and pearls and a rose gold fill clasp. A totally unique and stunning necklace.
This cross is something quite special. In great condition apart from a couple of tiny dents on the back. The raised flowers and leaves are crisp and the engraving very delicate.
The Aesthetic Period (1885-1901) is defined as one of reaction against previous jewellery periods. Victorians became disillusioned with current fashions moved toward a time of more refined artistic taste.
The cross measures 4cm x 2.5cm (including the bail). The total length of the chain is 72cm with a 4cm extension.
This unique piece of jewellery may have signs of wear due to its history. It is beautifully imperfect and should be treated with love and care. This cross is in great antique condition.
