Sterling silver and freshwater pearl necklace with an original 1900 Queen Victoria sterling silver threepence charm and sterling silver beads. A beautiful and unique necklace.

I love old coins especially antique silver ones. They are often smooth after many years of exchanging hands and have a real feel of history to them. 

The British threepence was known as a threepence or threepenny bit and was first used in England during the reign of Edward VI (1547-53). All threepences minted from 1816 to 1919 were made of sterling silver and those produced between 1920 and 1946 were half silver, half nickel. These coins were often made into bracelets by soldiers serving in WWII to send home to their sweethearts. 

The necklace measures 44.5cm with a 3cm extension.
