This beautiful necklace features a 1931 sterling silver watch fob with a rose gold cartouche on a sterling silver chain with a toggle clasp. The cartouche is blank and on the back Winners B.S 1931 is engraved. It is hallmarked Birmingham 1931 and has the makers mark JF for James Fenton of Great Hampton St, Birmingham.
This is a really beautiful fob and it is in excellent condition.
A fob is an adornment or a seal that hung from the ribbon or chain of a Gentleman's pocket watch. Its purpose was to decorate or add weight to the watch chain. Watch fob pendants were often given as prizes or to commemorate a special occasion or event.
The fob measures 4cm in diameter (including the bail), the total length of the chain is 50cm
