Victorian Silver Flower And Buckle Brooch
$95.00
Very pretty Victorian silver buckle brooch with delicate flower engraving. The brooch has exquisite details and has a c clasp and pin indicative of the era.
The Victorians were very fond of sentimental jewellery and buckles were often featured. Buckles and belts symbolised love and loyalty and were given to loved ones and worn in memory of those lost. Floral details on jewellery were also symbolic and were often used to send hidden sentimental messages.
Brooches were extremely popular in Victorian/Edwardian times and were often placed on ribbon around the wearer's neck to create a colliers de chien or ‘dog collar’.
The brooch measures 3cm.
This unique piece of jewellery may have signs of wear due to its history. It is beautifully imperfect and should be treated with love and care. This gorgeous brooch has a slight dent on one side and is in good antique condition.
