Vintage George V Silver Threepence Bracelet
$195.00
This beautiful bracelet features George V British threepences. The coins alternate between the Kings head side and the side showing the date and value and has a silver safety chain. A unique bracelet which is unmarked but tested for silver.
The British threepence was know as a threepence or threepenny bit and was first used in England during the reign of Edward VI (1547-53). All threepences minted from 1816 to 1919 were made of sterling silver and those produced between 1920 and 1946 were half silver, half nickel. These coins were often made into bracelets by soldiers serving in WWII to send home to their sweethearts.
The bracelet measures 18.5cm.
This unique piece of jewellery may have signs of wear due to its history. It is beautifully imperfect and should be treated with love and care. This bracelet is in excellent vintage condition.
