Leoni and Vonk's pick of the best bars in Melbourne

Melbourne's home grown bar scene has a head spinning variety, whether it is minimal chic, old style speakeasy or traditional pub there is something to suit all tastes. The city's bar scene is part of Melbourne's fabric providing a good time and new and interesting drinks. Here's our pick of the places to visit.

Eau De Vie

An elegant speakeasy theme with liquid nitrogen concoctions, classic cocktails and a thorough whisky collection. We can recommend the delicious and decadent The Aviator cocktail (shown below) and the yummy eggplant fries!

Bar Di Stasio

Lean against the high marble bar in this St Kilda institution, sip on drinks served in beautiful glassware and partake of some of the best bar food in Melbourne. We would recommend a Aperol Spritz and After School Sandwich.

31 Fitzroy St, St Kilda http://distasio.com.au/about/bar-di-stasio/

The Black Pearl

Described as "a neighbourhood bar, deep within the heart of Fitzroy" this gem recently won the Best International Cocktail Bar 2017. Open until 3am this bar has produced some of Melbourne's best bartenders and its cocktail list is award winning. We recommend The Intern and The Ploughman's Board.

304 Brunswick St, Fitzroy https://www.blackpearlbar.com.au

Arlechin

"Where food, drink and mischief meet" the Grossi stable's new alleyway bar again allows you to party on until 3am. Fabulous Italo-Australian wines, amazing cocktails and delights such as bolognaise waffles and crumbed quail will make you never want to leave. We recommend The Jungle Bird and a Cod Sloppy Joe!!!
